Lusting after Leigh's

I use to be obsessed with Jamie jeans but now all I can do is lust after Leigh's. What did I do without these in my life? I couldn't imagine squeezing into anything else ever again, now my Jamie's stay in the wardrobe until I really need them and my Leigh's get worn constantly!

I really like green and black at the moment, I wore my black Topshop Leigh jeans with a Topshop green top from autumn/winter 13. My leather jacket is from River Island a few years back but I think worn with my purple lipstick it really vamps up an outfit. My necklace is Accessorize spring/summer 14 and my shoes Belissimo from autumn/winter 13 I really love slipper style pumps and I think the sparkle on these takes an outfit from day to evening.

I thought I need another pair or 5 but lets start with adding one more to the collection for now and more when I go on my next shopping trip. My black Leigh's are a 28W 30L when trying on new ones I found different colours fitted differently, I ended up with a 30W 28L in petite ankle grazer. Being very short the 28L actually does graze my ankle which makes a change.

Gel nail polish

Hello :) after having a break from my blog due to live being very busy over the past few months today I thought I really miss it!! So I'm going to try and find the time to start blogging again. I thought I would start with a post more related to my job! I hope you like xx

I am a Hairdresser and nail technician by trade so I thought I would share one of favourite products with you.... Gel nail polish. I used Nubar Gelicure and IBD just gel on my nail bar, it comes in a huge amount of colours, it can be used for nail art and I also add glitters, gems and lots more to mine.

If you've ever been curious about the 4 week manicure that seems to have taken the world by storm over the last few years it really is worth giving it a go. I find it lasts anywhere between 2-6 weeks on my clients depending on what job they do and how well they take care of there nails, they must be treated as jewels not tools. It can last up to 3 months on toes depending on the rate of growth and very rarely chips.

I love nail polish and use to have to paint mine every other day being a hair dresser and having my hands in water normal polish never lasted. When I first discovered this product I fell in love with it straight away. My nails are stronger, longer and I only have to do them every 2-3 weeks, yay! When used correctly it wont weaken or damage your nails and is easy to remove.

There's lots of companies out there that make gel polish but Nubar and IBD are my favourite. Nubar products are available in England for professionals through a company called Palms Extra, there a lovely company with excellent customer service, they really take care of there clients.

If you haven't all ready I would definitely give Gel polish a go!

Celebrating a friends 30th

The day after my birthday was a friends 30th so I had a busy weekend, it was a lovely party with family and friends. Here's what I wore....

My blue Zara Jacket and shoes are two of my favourite items in my wardrobe, I wear them together time and time again. Although I purchased them in different seasons they match perfectly and go with so many colours and outfits. My pink next top always provides a lovely pop of colour! As always I'm wearing a pair of trusty Leigh's. My necklace was a present from my mum last Christmas I love anything that sparkles. I read a quote the other day that said 'Eat glitter for breakfast and shine all day' how lovely!

Boden Birthday Celebrations....

A few weeks ago the 5th of September was my 26th Birthday so of course this required a new birthday outfit. After my post on the new Boden Catalogue I couldn't resist but have a browse online and use my discount code and free delivery, this is what I purchased The Leila Ponte Dress.

It fits true to size and the fabric is very stretchy and feels lovely against your skin, I also purchased the Wardour pink waist belt I think it really sets of the navy colour of the dress. My dress was in the sale but my belt was full price. The Leila Ponte Dress is £63.20 and I'm wearing a size 10 regular. My pink leather belt is a medium and also fitted true to size, I'm 5 foot 2 inches tall so if your taller than me you might want to order the longer length if you prefer the dress to sit on or below the knee.

I had a lovely birthday and meal at Prezzo's with my best friends, I felt very spoilt, thank-you everyone!

Bulaggi the Bag

I've been craving this bag for a while now, I nearly brought it for my friends wedding but it wasn't the right colour. I think really I was just looking for an excuse to buy it, it was priced at £45 and I didn't need it so I just admired it every week when I went to town, until this week when it had gone in the sale at £22.50! I couldn't resist! I'm sure I will get a lot of use out of it I've been wanting a new shoulder bag for a while for shopping days and evening meals as my Michael Kors bag I use everyday is quite heavy and bulky. This bag is light weight, it has a zip and internal pocket with a zip and two small divided sections. It comes with an adjustable shoulder strap that can be removed so it can be used as a clutch too.

The laser cut pattern on the front is very beautiful and delicate and the Gold shimmer colouring really complements it. It has a pretty pink lining with gold shimmer trim and logo and comes with a dust bag.

I purchased mine from Oldrids my local department store in Boston http://www.oldrids.co.uk/

mi pac overnight bag

I love weekend breaks whether it be at a Spa, in the city or in the country its very rare I would say no. My next weekend break is a Spa break with the girls from work to The Varsity Hotel and Spa in Cambridge. I normally take a small case, I am rather high maintenance I must admit but I try to take as little as possible with me, I thought an overnight would be much easier than a case.

When shopping in town on Monday I came across this overnight bag my mi pac. I spotted it from across the store and thought that's it!! I want that bag!! I was feeling a bit under the weather on Monday and its amazing what a little retail therapy can do.

The bag its self is very light and spacious, it has a carry handle and an over shoulder strap, both are soft and very well padded. there's also an internal zip pocket. All in all just what I was looking for and the perfect overnight bag. I will let you know how I get on with my new bag after my stay in Cambridge.

The mi pac bag is available from several stockist in the UK. mine was from our local run family department store Oldrids in Boston Lincolnshire. It comes in several designs and colours and only £29.95 which I think is a great price for such good quality.

Here's a link to the mi pac website where you can see there ranges and stockists http://www.mi-pac.com/

Oldrids have a few on their website http://www.oldrids.co.uk/en-gb/search-page/

That London feeling!

Following my blog on the Marylebone I had that London feeling and just wanted to write about it, in fact when I started I struggled to stop. As you have perhaps gathered I love London so I thought I would share with you a few of my favourite things to do while I'm there.

Soho-
Soho is a vibrant lively area to visit day or night with lots of bars, restaurants, shops and interesting people. I have eaten in several restaurants and they have all been lovely. Look out for the bakers too with the beautiful moorish cakes on display in the window.

Camden town-
Camden is a little gem. My favourite part is Camden lock and if you haven't already been its somewhere you need to discover. its very diverse, colourful and wonderful. Every time I go I notice something I haven't noticed before. Every shop and every person who passes you is quirky and unique. I feel its a place you can't describe and you have to experience it for yourself.

The Shard-
I have been lucky enough to go up the Shard twice in its first year and it really is worth a visit. I went with my mum and her friends who use to live in London so it was like having my own tour guides, very exciting ones reminiscing. Try to pick a clear sunny day and you can see for miles. They don't seem to mind how long you stay up there either and photographers often sit on the floor with their cameras taking long exposure photos. there's interactive stations that you point at landmark and they provide you with all the relevant information. the Shard has two levels, one completely indoor and one with an open roof, I prefer the top level because you can feel the fresh air. Be prepared for the lift too, its super fast!! The cost for the shard varies but the average is about £24.95 and you are given a time slot. I would still love to go in the evening and have dinner in one of the restaurants as the sun is setting and watch it get dark and see London light up the sky. Take a look for your self follow my link click for the Shard.

Here's two photos from the Shard, one before I went up and one from up there. The bottom left photo is Soho and the bottom right is Camden in the Nepalese shop.

The Royal Opera House-
Last year I went to see the Bolshoi ballet perform Swan Lake. It was a special occasion so we hired a private box it was such a wonderful experience, one I will never forget. I hope to go again to see more ballets and operas. We started with a very expensive bottle of champagne that my mums friend brought and still hasn't got over the shock of the price, it was fabulous! The champagne was kept on ice for us and brought out again at the interval along with sandwiches. Arriving in our private box felt very special (lots of room for shopping bags at the back and hooks for your coats). The Royal Opera house is a magnificent building the architecture and detail is stunning. We were the third box back and had a good non obstructed view. Having never seen a ballet before I didn't know how I would feel, I was mesmerised I felt very emotional I still keep listening to the music now and it takes me straight back there. The opera seemed very popular and the queue of people for returned tickets was huge. It was an amazing night, a wonderful performance in magnificent surroundings. The Opera House is set in Covent garden so try to arrive early and have a wonder around first there's some great little boutiques and coffee shops or you could just watch the street entertainers. Follow my link click for the Royal Opera House.

The rain forest café- near Piccadilly Circus and brilliant if you have children that need entertaining. My goddaughter loved it she thought she had gone to dinner in an underground jungle. Its very interactive and the food was good too. Follow my link to have a look for yourself click for the Rain Forest Café.

The bottom right photo is at a little café we have discovered just around the corner from Oxford Circus tube station on the same street as the Palladium. We get off the train and have a cup of tea and breakfast to get us ready for the day ahead.

Tiffany and Co.
Well we all know about Tiffany and Co. every girls dream. I purchased a Tiffany's notes ring for my self from the Old Bond street store. Its very high class, the doorman was lovely the assistant I purchased the ring from was snooty and not that good at his job. But I'm a girly girl and apart from that I still love Tiffany's. We all dream of that little blue box don't we?

The Mall and Green Park are more of a peaceful part of London were you can escape the hustle and bustle, great for walking and sitting in the park. I also love to walk down Regents Street in the evening window shopping the architecture is so grand and looks very impressive when lit up. The Chelsea Flower show and Ideal Home show are worth a visit to.

I really could talk about London all day but this post would be way too long so for now I'm going to conclude with St Pancreas station. I think you could go to London and just spend a whole day inside St Pancreas station. It has shops, architecture, food, drink, entertainers, The St Pancreas Renascence hotel and you can catch a train to Paris. I'm very fond of Fortnum and Masons and they have recently opened a mini store and restaurant there so I always go for my tea and biscuit fix. If your looking for dinner Carluccio's is a great place to go, you can sit outside they have heaters and blankets if its cold and you can watch the Euro Star depart to Paris.

They have two pianos for the Public to play and if your lucky you will catch a young musician having a go or maybe even a group of them.

I hope you enjoy this post and I hope you get that London feeling because there really isn't anything like it!
